MALES & FEMALES
More than our first litter
This litter was more than our first step into breeding. It was the result of more than five years of planning, observation, development and countless conversations. Our A litter was born on 3 November 2022, guided by a clear idea of where we wanted our breeding to go and by the knowledge that breeding can never be planned completely. Every mating is also a new combination of genetics – and that is precisely what makes it so fascinating.
Four personalities from the very beginning.

The thinking behind the mating
Foxx is an athletic, lean female with solid substance and a very stable exterior. Her back in particular was one area where we hoped Boss could provide balance. Temperamentally we also had a clear goal: more calm for Foxx, fewer impulsive reactions and more clarity and composure. Overall, we do see that balance in the A litter. At the same time, the litter shows beautifully how differently the genetics of two dogs can be distributed among four puppies. Alpha and Rajani strongly recall their mother in expression and temperament, while Oly and Pink carry more of their father, both visually and in character, though with a little more fire than Boss himself.
Exploring, observing and growing together.

What this litter taught us
We see many qualities in our A litter for which we are grateful: clarity, strength, presence and expression. Responsible breeding also means not making developments look better than they are. Not every temperament trait seen in a litter automatically fits every modern home. Three of the four dogs were health evaluated at around 18 months and had unremarkable results; to our knowledge, the fourth was not X-rayed accordingly. One female also developed a marked behavioural problem which, according to her owners, improved after spaying. Looking back, no single factor can explain such a development, but information like this belongs in our evaluation of a litter.

What we take forward
We have followed the A litter closely over the years. Many things were confirmed, others made us reconsider and changed decisions. One of those decisions concerns Foxx: we chose not to breed her again. Her son Oly, however, stayed with us. We have followed his development from the beginning and he carries many qualities we find interesting for our future breeding. If he enters breeding one day, he would not simply be the next generation, but an opportunity to build on what our first litter taught us and develop our goals more deliberately.

A litter that shaped us
Our A litter will always be special. It marked the beginning of Undercover Records as a breeding kennel and is probably the litter from which we have learned the most. These four dogs shaped our understanding of breeding, influenced decisions and helped determine our path. The A litter was our beginning, our most emotional milestone and probably our most educational litter.
